How do I track several prop firm accounts in one place?
Give each account its own rules, then compare them by the share of their max loss still left, not by dollars: that's how the Desk ranks them, nearest the line first. Below, the account with the most room, $3,300, is nearer its line than one with less. Your own money sits alongside, with a floor you set.
Worked example
Each account keeps its own rules. They're ranked by the share of their max loss still left, nearest the line first.
1. Sample account C · $25,000, $1,500 static
- Balance
- $24,100
- Floor
- $23,500
- Room
- $600
- Max loss left
- 40%
2. Sample account B · $100,000, $3,000 intraday trailing
- Balance
- $100,900
- Highest equity
- $102,100
- Floor
- $99,100
- Room
- $1,800
- Max loss left
- 60%
3. Your own money · $25,000 start, $5,000 max loss you set
- Balance
- $23,300
- Floor
- $20,000
- Room
- $3,300
- Max loss left
- 66%
4. Sample account A · $50,000, $2,000 end-of-day trailing
- Balance
- $50,600
- Highest close
- $51,000
- Floor
- $49,000
- Room
- $1,600
- Max loss left
- 80%
Sample account C is first with 40% of its max loss left. Your own money has the most dollars of room, $3,300, but that is 66% of its max loss, so dollars alone would rank it wrong.
Computed by the same rule engine your real accounts use.
Each account keeps its own rules
Two accounts of the same size can have different floors: a different max loss, a different trailing mode, a daily limit on one and not the other. A spreadsheet that applies one rule to all of them gives one number that's wrong for most of them. Each account needs its own copy of its rules, dated, so a change at the firm doesn't quietly move it.
Compare by share, not dollars
$1,800 of room means one thing on a $3,000 max loss and another on a $2,000 one. The share of the max loss still left puts every account on the same scale, which is why the Desk ranks by it: the account nearest its line is at the top.
Your own money too
No firm sets a floor on your own brokerage account, so you set one: a max loss, and a daily limit if you want it. It's ranked with the rest, on the same scale.
How firms differ
- Max loss, trailing mode and daily limit can differ between firms, plans and stages, so same-size accounts can have different floors.
- Some firms cap how many accounts you can hold at once.
- Firms change their rules over time, so accounts bought months apart can carry different versions.
Check your firm's current terms. Claridae's presets record each firm's version, dated, and you can edit any account's rules.
